Blue on Black

The oddest thing happened this week. I was kicked off my team. Of course it was framed differently. It was framed as a favor to me.

It seems the structure of the business is changing and it would simply be a better fit if I were with the Support team (which is made up entirely of bad asses) as they are more closely aligned with what I actually do. In fact, the call was started with, you are moving, but you aren’t laid off, and then laughter.

I’ll be honest, I’m not going to miss this particular manager. She doesn’t have the knowledge or talent to do the job, but I find it amusing that she managed to get rid of me finally.

Does that change my exit strategy? Absolutely not, but it does make the last bit of time palatable.

It is the closest thing to fired that I’ve been in years.
