While it is just above freezing this morning, it feels darn chilly to be walking a 5K. There were some serious motivation issues getting out of bed and I’m not too proud to admit that for a moment I considered staying curled up.
But my sister and niece are coming too so whether it feels like it is too cold or not, I slammed a cup of coffee and jumped in the car.
Watching all the people file out of their cars, grabbing their race shirts and bibs, you can guess who is serious about a run and who will probably be walking like myself. There are people here in shorts! In T-shirts! I believe those are the serious runners. And then there are those of us in coats and hoodies, bundled up with knit hats and gloves ready to stave off the light wind.
Have I mentioned it is cold?
I was at the house yesterday waiting on deliveries and the contractor I had scheduled a consult that never showed up. I’m going to take that as a sign that the bathroom reno needs to wait and that I should focus on the needs and not the wants.
Meanwhile I’m putting together a new bed frame and dragging a mattress in a box up a flight of stairs. There was a normal amount of cussing I believe, getting it up that flight, but I was still distracted by all the little things.
After this week’s round of people I will start on my own renovations, the painting, learning how to run a water line to the fridge, try to see how hard it is to set up a dryer vent. I’m anxious to be in my new place, to have the stuff all in one spot. I’m just spinning my wheels which is frustrating all on its own.
But first, it is time to walk amongst some apple trees.
