Today didn’t quite go as planned. I slept in instead of getting a jump on the day. I experimented with a pumpkin cookie recipe instead of doing a mint Kris Kringle. I never got to open a bottle of wine. And I only made one batch of cookies instead of all ten.
As I was getting ready to hit the store to pick up some wine my mom notified me that she was going to need help with a new piece of furniture she bought. Easy detour I thought. As I was getting ready to go to her place an old friend of mine whose father just passed sent me a message, wanting to get together for a beer. I quickly made up a batch of batter to bake tomorrow, then headed out.
I only have 5 more days to make these cookies. The heat is on.
